moline illinois | It is hard to know whats outside our neighborhoods. Here in western Illinois everything looks good. Iowa looks good from where ive traveled. We do have to remember that the states that are hurting don't have the higher yield averages to begin with that we do in ia,il. But, that being said, the added acres USDA somehow say are planted won't have the extra yield to contribute to the national average on a bu/@ basis. Another words if they say ND planted more corn and thats where they added the land from there average yield is below national average. So even with no damage the national projected should be lower. Add in some stressed crops it lowers farther, but not like it would if those areas where in ia or ill.
The shame of it all is that someone has to get hurt for the price to move to profitable levels. And then the basis widens anyway. But I guess I can't blame them if they are up to there ears in the stuff. | |
