Heart of Ohio | In the past, I had not paid much mind nor any time tracking basis, flat price motivated as Maizeing puts it. Mostly Thanks to you Maizeing and others on here, I almost always seperate basis from pricing sales now. Just this morning with the rally in corn looking strong, I went ahead and locked in the basis on all my old crop corn in the bin, ended up with +.10 over the July (plan is to be fully priced two weeks either side of July 4th), tonight it's +.06, not big money but it helps, I'm guessing it will continue to widen (deffereds are currently -.05 under) if this rally has any legs to it (wouldn't surprise me if I'm wrong tho.) Put in a couple pricing targets as well.
I have a new appreciation and understanding of the buyers perspective thanks to Maizeing, Ray J, CornKrush and others (my local buyers have told me they notice the new attitude too) I for one, value your posts! (keep em coming !!)
We won't be back in the field anytime soon so ...... we be a haulin.
