| I wear earmuffs for any tractor operation in the field, and for chainsaw and lawn mowing. Over the long term they prevent slow loss of hearing, but the immediate benefit is that you don't feel "zonked out" after several hours of wide-open throttle work. No, they are not all that comfortable, but to avoid discomfort later in the day from having your body cope with all that sound energy they are well worth it. | |
