| You need to test your manure to figure out what you are applying for nutrients!!! You could have anywhere from 20-60#N per 1000 gal. 5000 gal at 20# won't get you very much N, but 5000 gal with a 50# test is going to get you in trouble with your PCA.
We try to get most of the crop N needs from manure and always spray 10 gal 32% with pre-plant chemicals. We tried to go with out the 32%, but in the cold MN spring the corn will look tough until about mid-june and then it will take off. I use 3 gal 10-34-00 starter, too.
I agree with the other posts that N from manure seems to be more of a "slow release" | |
