Heart of Ohio | KING, I did it last year on corn and beans both. Chose 1.50 option on soy and month of June and first two weeks of July time frame, as luck would have it (cuz I'm not that smart) it nailed it, the guarantee increase for that time frame was 1.51. My soybean yields were good, and still a big fat zero for insurance payout. Told me, the insurance companies actuaries are still smarter than me.
My choice in corn added another .20 to corn guarantee price as well, again big fat Zero for payout.
I did not do the option this year mostly because of the above and felt this years spring price was good enough. | |
