Central Illinois | Going to divide the sows into groups of 6-8. They will have outside access. From the post the other day our capacity is around 40-60 hogs a pen with 4 grower pens. That makes 3 groups of 6-8 sows about right. We won't be as efficient as others but being specialty allows for that.
for now I want to stick to around 24-30 sows. It works perfect for our setup. If we decide to expand we can build hoop barns to finish away from the house and turn our finishing pens into sow pens. But that would mean we need a bigger farrowing house.
