Buxton ND | Us old/er guys have played this game before in the 1980's. It was called Uncle's old set-a-side program where you summer fallowed 10-15% I can't remember it mite have been 20-25% of your base acres a few years.
It was well proven it did not work, we cut, the world increased production and prices were still poor. A term used in the 1980's by many market folks, "Be the low cost producers" pretty tough to do with 15k dirt and high flyer rents. Our for father learned the hard way they had to cut land costs.
