I've worked with OptRX sensors for a number of years. They work well. We mounted them on the boom of the sprayer. Pros: Very flexible system to setup and use. Great for wet years. Cons: Hybrid changes will affect the reading. Also, it used to max out in bare soil but I think they've fixed that. I think cereal crops are best suited for this tech, with corn a close second. I used them for 4 seasons. What I was finding is that the sensor readings were similar to the management zones that I had already developed, but in a wet year when you lose some Nitrate it will more than pay for itself.
