Buxton ND | Selling options are a margin-able position. After the wild years post E-boom I personally do not sell options. When I first started hedging in the 1980's my broker would NOT allow me to sell options period.
Roll back give or take a year, corn and bean were never going to rally. Many folks sold options to add to the bottom line. Buy a put as a floor, sell 1-2-3-5 to pay for the put.
Those that sold options give or take a year ago,,,,,,, got the shaft, a very BIG SHAFT in soybeans. I could give a big long explanation of what happened last year tho I think the shaft sums it up very well and is quite easy to understand. Maybe someone in NAT would share their experience from last year ?
Those that gave BUYING A CALL a try or learning a new trick to re-own bushels sold ended HAPPY CAMPERS with rally 2016 I know one gentlemen in NAT that's gonna be grinning from ear to ear reading the buying part. | |
