I've read other sources who state that being the reserve currency is a curse, and the desire should be to lose that status, and be free to drive economic policy based on internal matters only.  Then all the doom and gloomers keep pronouncing how the Rest of the World wants to knock the dollar from its reserve currency status and replace it with their own, and how tragic that will be for Americans.  They can't both be right. 

And in the mean time, the status quo works for everyone, except those who are so backwards thinking that they believe debts should be paid off, and currency should have an intrinsic value........
