I loved my Legos when I was a kid, I'm 35 and I still have a backhoe on my desk I built 20-25 years ago, built lots of custom farm toys too!
The Lego backhoe pictured below? I'm also 35 and had that set.
The last set I got for myself was the 8283 telehandler because it looked just like our Manitou. Actually the cab is on the wrong side (like a Sloan's catalog cover) so I had to reverse everything when building it, so now it looks like our Manitou.
