sw corner ia. | I have those hitches, and somehow a wagon became unhooked on the road. 100 yards from my driveway. the ONLY thing that saved at least losing the wagon and it's load was the super beefy 5/8" grade 12 safety chains that I grafted on there.
not using safety chains is a recipe for complete disaster.
I use locking grab hooks, and welded two eyes on the wagon tongues out of 1" plate. I made a holder for the chains by welding a hook made out of old welded together gathering chains the attach to both sides of the quick hitch. my wife is 63 and hauls all day with them. | |
