Not as much as it used to.  The bigger threat to a seller is eBay itself and PayPal.

I have dabbled in selling a little over the years (been more of a buyer), so have been following some eBay sellers groups on Facebook.  Returns is a constant topic.  If a purchase is an INAD (Item Not As Described) eBay will force a seller to refund regardless of their posted return policies.  BUT you have to follow the proper procedures. All communications must be rough the eBay message system.  And NEVER threaten a seller. Just saying "Do this or I will leave negative feedback" could be enough to tip things in the seller's favor.

On the other hand eBay is really REALLY biased in the buyer's favor.  It's very common to hear sellers complain they sold some electronic item only to have it returned by the buyer for whatever reason.  When they get it back it is not the item they sent.  Bay almost always sides with the buyer simply because there is no way for eBay to know who is telling the truth.  Sellers have claimed if a buyer returns a box of rocks but follows the procedures documenting it as returned the seller is stuck with it.

PayPal is getting to be a problem for sellers because even after eBay has resolved a dispute in favor of the seller the buyer can go to PayPal and start the whole mess over again.

But feedback in an of itself is less and less an issue then it was even a year ago.
