I feel the precision meters gave a better stand, and even if you aren't convinced that the increased precision leads to more $$, the biggest selling point on the precision meters is the wear factor. I was replacing JD backing plates every 500 a on a 6-30 planter. I've got 1200 on the set of precisions in there now and you can just start to see the ramp shining up. Far more reliable and longer lasting product. Don't even consider JD parts. Go for the rebuild kit if your old bearings are good and housings are in good shape.
