I'd bet you'd encounter the same expirerence with grass yearlings out of the west.......takes time for them to figure out what bunks and fermented feed really is. One comment on longer haul cattle......neighbor has a livestock trucking company........lots and lots of wood chips are our friends on longer haul cattle. An investment in 8 bags of chips at $6/bag is essential to prevent sore feet on longer hauls. Joe, I know you never said anything about sore feet or that you have any soreness. I'm just saying it to help others that may not know. Same neighbor got a load of 7wt. Heifers out of California 2 weeks ago.......lots and I mean lots of chips in the trailer..........not a sore foot after a 1900 mile haul. Good luck! Muddy here again......1.8" yesterday.
