In a van, down by the river. | I am pretty sure the Decker trucks are a "rolling conveyor belt" connecting Cargill's Blair and Ft Dodge plants. I don't think they export any of their DDG's. Rather, I believe they are all either railed to large feedlots, or trucked to dairies, etc. Their product is branded, and has a few more features than commodity DDG's. I know consistency is a big deal for them, and I've wondered if that might have something to do with their transfers between plants. They've been very steady for a few years. I don't know as it's a secret or anything; I've just never asked anyone at Cargill. It's more fun to imagine it's something really interesting or lucrative... |
