Subject: RE: Favorable basis

West Central MN (between MMF and Larson's)
Ray or others in the know.

Had an interesting conversation with buyer at a local eplant. In the past 2 weeks since we were able to obtain a push for dec del corn he has obtained a great deal of both OC corn coming in and NC contracting.
He thought some were just throwing in the towel and others were being "helped" by bankers telling some (not all) to move corn at fall for cash flow and to ensure the don't loose any more price movement.
He had all October grind and most of Nov covered already.

Are you hearing similar stories from your former coworkers ??

Last few years we've been able to obtain nice post harvest basis numbers as the eplants have played chicken on basis and lost. Not looking that way early after harvest, but trying to determine if that flow of grain stays steady or chokes down like last 3-4 years. Your loan comment would lend itself to basis opp but too much "help" from lenders will flood the early winter market.
