NW KS/ SC ID | Also, for those interested in what a blade plow is, here is a few pics.
First Pic: pulling one home for a friend, this is a late Richardson, new enough to wear Sunflower on the tongue. Sunflower bought Richardson in its entirety and the just the blade plow design from Flex King when both were in rough financial shape in the 80s, so its possible to have a green sunflower and a orange sunflower. Now both designs are still offered in Sunflower Red.
Second pic is our 5x5 Flex Kings in action. its a later KM frame, but with the old "chain style" pickers.
Third pic is a little 3x5 Flex King I was in the process of dragging home from an auction. Note the curvature of the earth on the tree-less (for the most part) horizon. Gotta love western Kansas. :)
Fourth Pic: The Flex King 5x5 and the Noble 4x6 in action.
Fifth Pic: Side by side out of the ground
Sixth pic: scraping blades to try to encourage scouring. shiny blades pull much easier.
Side note: the 160 hp 7060 pulling 23 feet of pretty well leveled and very shiny flex kings pulls easy at 6 mph. the 186 hp 7580 is loaded up good and runs warm at 5 mph with 22 feet of 4x6 that are not level and are still rusty in places. Back in the day, 7580s were pulling 7x5s or 5x6s in our area. I need to level the Nobles badly.
Also, Noble invented the design, and supposedly all companies had to pay royalties or buy the shanks or both to use the design.
