Saronville NE | In my experience a baler starts nickel and diming you after 10-12k bales. It will really depend on if it has baled stalks, if it has baled very many stalks I'd keep looking. I'd rather have a 20k bale alfalfa baler then a 10k bale stalk baler any day of the week.
I've got a 7090 special crop, I normally trade at 10k bales, I didn't trade this year due to cutting back on custom and cattle loss in 15. I put 1527 bales thru it in last 7 days, its ready to turn over 12k. We lost 3 bearings and the declutch this week, first repairs besides teeth and PTOs done to baler. NH has a very weak PTO area, the CV and drive line is to light built. We put in a PTO a year, and grease it daily.
Edit: Stay away from a 566 JD. One of the worst balers I've ever owned repair wise. Could not make a single cutting without break downs and that would be after extensive rebuild in winter.
