Subject: RE: John Deere 335 disc

we had a 330 we rebuilt as I bought it in bad condition--no grease gangs ran loose--discs worn out.this was a 21 ft. 11 inch spacing--we rebuilt with 24 in. cone blades and yes it would ridge so don thought what would correct this and yes we solved it. we deangled the gangs a little and loosened the gangs and slid them outward as far as possible.we also ran 22 in blades on the inner position on both rear gangs.this harrow weighs 5 tons and we did once over and plant in chopped corn stubble cutting 10 inches or more pulling it with a kinze repowered 5020.in combined corn stubble we made the second pass to get the best mix but would have to use the wheels to control depth or the big girl would spin out using 24.5x32 duals.we ran this combination in sixth gear with no breakage.have no fear that 335 is the last disc jd uilt that is worth a dam. good luck
