NW Iowa | Got a 06 4500 Duramax that will sometimes shut off while driving, or it goes into limp mode and only lets you get 2000 rpm, and sometimes won't start back up. We have changed the fuel filter twice. Sometimes when it is running it will give some bursts of black smoke, but that could be because of being in limp mode. Where would you start to look? I am not sure if this is like the 2500 HDs that run the fuel system as a vacuum, maybe there is air getting in somewhere or is there a lift pump? Thanks | |
