I was rather surprised by the size of dent from the toolbox drop-- on both trucks. I have an '87 Chevy that I'm pretty sure would have less of dent than either of them.

Does anybody remember seeing ads in the early 2000's for a plastic/composite/fiberglass bed on Chevy trucks?  Did they sell any of those? How are they holding up?
