GM sells more trucks than Ford, they just do it under 2 brands which allows Ford to claim best selling truck in North America. Truth be told, it is a small percentage of all trucks that every truly get used as a work vehicle. Most trucks haul little more than a lunch box and that is who the manufactures market to.

Not true, not even close.
As to chevy and gmc combined outselling ford F series, It has not happened in nearly 40 years. For example, in 2013, Chevy sold 418,312 pickups, Gmc sold 157,185 for a combined sales of 575,497 chev + gmc pickups while Ford F series sold 763,402, so for that year, outsold chev and gmc combined by nearly 100,000 pickups. The numbers have been similar most every year for decades.
