Subject: Re: Precision Planting products questions

About five years ago I had to change my fingers on my JD 7200 so I got JD fingers reinstalled and the dealer could never get them to the precision I liked. According to them it was putting 99 percent of the population that I asked for but I told them it is no good when there are too many double and skips. I sent the units to our local Precision dealer and he couldn't get them to work either so I got fed up and put Precision fingers on. The best way for me to explain how accurate they are is with my JD fingers but to best possible and planting 32000 plants I had to set my high and low pop warnings 10 percent from the desired pop meaning approx 35000 high and 29000 low because that was how much the population jumped. Now I am running the precision fingers and the range is about 600 plants over and under compared to 3000. This is running my planter at 4.8 MPH. Another thing is backplates are lasting alot longer as well. Make the switch and you will be very happy.
