| You're dreaming. People could care less where their food comes from, they only care what it costs. Ever seen a cull cow slaughter house where all that grocery store hamburger comes from, if you saw those cows, you wouldn't eat them. Wal-mart rules because of price and availability. I don't think there are enough ditch and gully fields around to justify a whole new combine economy. Usually those fields are full of rocks or poor yielding and aren't economically feasible to even be farming, a lot cheaper to bring a 100 car train in with $2.00 corn, and yes corn will be back to $2 again soon. We live in an economy driven by economics, not sentimentality. If there was really a feasible market for those combines here, I guarantee you deere, case, or agco would be making them. | |
