| I haven't seen anyone give credit to the jd 3975 a very high capacity strongly built machine--I haven't run one but I did run a 3970 with the wide pickup in haylage and a 3 row corn head behind 3 different tractors--2 kinze repowers--5020 and 4620 powershift plus a challenger 55 on a muddy year. the machine was outstanding--we ran it from 1990 to 2003 with very few repairs other than knives,shear bars,pipe liners and a few other maintenance items.we worked it hard with all 3 tractors keeping the throat full.the secret to the performance of all these machines regardless of color is management of the knives and shear bar | |
