I thought it would be neat to have one, but I think they will get better. Seems like the cheaper one's run about 10 minutes or so. I think in time they will get more flight time out of them. What happens when you fly over 6 foot standing corn and the thing dies and crashes. How do you find it?
The phantom 3 has a return to taken off spot when battery gets low.....great feature long as it continues to work(have used it few times mostly to see if it works and performance)
Back when I was flying RC planes they had an alarm that had its own battery (9volt if I remember right) and it would sound when there was no signal from the reciever. Worked really good actually.
Neighbors kids had a cheaper plane without an alarm installed and they lost it in the corn field. Found it few months later with the combine.
