I had an accidental test plot last year. While working on the planter I shut off the fertilizer switches and forgot to turn them back on until I had planted 10 acres or so. I marked the field and when I sidedressed the field I upped the nitrogen rate to bring the total N up to the same level. I could still the 10 acres at harvest, both from the combine and the yield map. It's a pain, but I'm a believer now. I did not add any extra P so that would be off some.
