I think he missed it. Probably will be fine, but if not he could spread urea on them as a rescue.

I read some data a while back where they looked at the DNA fingerprint of the rhyzobia in the nodules on the soybeans and compared with the wild type in the field and the one in the innoculant used. All the ones in the nodules were the wild type!
