This is why I have no-tilled into short, killed alfalfa if no manure is applied. Works slick where other no-till corn can struggle in cold soil.


I've always been intrigued at the differences in growing areas. Here, even in mellow ground, after 8 years of alfalfa the ground is so hard no till would be impossible. But, it surely works well in other places.
