North Central Illinois | Neighbor across the road is planting RR corn tomorrow. How long do I need to wait to plant mine to avoid GMO pollen contamination? We are both planting 107 day corn. A reputable non-GMO seed corn producer told me wait 150-200 GDU, then plant. Is he right? In the past I have waited 3 weeks after the GMO corn was planted, but my other neighbors almost always get their corn in the ground before May 1.
Am I likely to get by with minimal cross pollination with 300' of isolation? | |
