Subject: Peanut planting seeds per foot

Valencia & Georgia Varieties 06 , 09 , 12Y for use in the fresh green peanut market. I have always heard you need 5-6 seed per foot in row. An ole farmer told me 3 seed per foot in row would be plenty. The goal is to grow a good quality and maximum size peanut these varieties are capable of producing. The more area the peanut has to grow the easier it can reach its full potential in size. Just would like to hear from others about their peanut planting experience and what the ideal seed spacing should be to obtain qualiy size nut at harvest for retail marketing.

Thanks
