I built one to lift a small strip till I have and yes they are a bit on the teter totter side. The tongue wasn't long enough and the pivot point was too far back. It too would almost lift the rear of the tractor. I shortened the arms the wheels attach to and added a weight bracket to the tongue and it changed the pivot point greatly. I am not an engineer so it was trial end error but it worked.
