1. Is the market currently too risky for the grain companies? i.e. there are a lot of grain sellers but not that many grain buyers...or are there? Your scenario details a world with far fewer transactions than today, a benefit of VI. Still, my corn is the same as my neighbor's corn. Or will specialty products rise up?
2. Do companies in adjacent stages of production have more power than the grain companies? It certainly wouldn't be farmers.
3. Would it increase barriers to entry or the ability to price discriminate? Or is that even a thing in the grain market?
