Why is the market bidding for soybean acres and not corn? Does the market know something that I don't?
The common misconception is that the market has to bid for more acres, it can also sell off acres, which is what I think we are seeing on corn.
If the soybean price was where it was 1 month ago I'd agree. But we've seen soybeans go higher than I was expecting and corn is just flat and now lower. Soybeans are buying acres right now.....it's working for me.
I'm seriously considering putting all my irrigated acres to soybeans....
