Fixing uneven fields does not sound like a job for any disk. I thought they were primarily designed to create uneven fields. The tilloll would do the job, but it still has a little of the disk in it....they sometimes tend to ridge a little. I'd go for a good high residue field cultivator and try to run behind the beans. Field cultivators, especially long, drawn-out ones, are about as effective as anything short of a land plane at getting rid of uneveness. A chisel plow would also stand a good chance of handling the residue, and you don't have to run them deep. Whatever you choose, you want a good harrow on it. We plant notill beans behind corn every year and usually plant a different direction...there's really no reason that tillage is required to change direction. |
