MN | US beet sugar is at a fork in the road right now. Consumers want non gmo everything, including sugar. Just so happens cane sugar is non gmo. What will the beet industry do? Go backwards 10 years in technology and varieties to conventional seed or be stubborn and keep producing a gmo crop?
Fact of the matter is, the non gmo crowd is not going away. Seems that they are yelling louder all the time.
Personally I think their argument is ridiculous but it is a consumer driven market, so do what you do. | |
