Here's basically all I know, from what I've "seen" and what I've read. I think he threw a bunch of fairly innovative balls in the air at the same time and one or two of em got away from him. He built a large corn-handling facility in Grafton. It's advantage was that it dried using nat. gas so he had a cost advantage, but he didn't have rail access so that's a definite disadvantage when you're in an area with almost no local demand for corn.
The "Tom" part of the story is actually pretty encouraging. It's to bad people have lose everything material to appreciate the things of true value, but if what Ray writes is true, I'm very happy for him.
What Ray's doing with this blog post though...... is a little harder for me to understand. |
