Ottawa Canada | I think there are times when basis contracts work ok. Sold soys and wheat on basis at CAD/US $.69. Left futures open to catch any small spring rally then will price. No rolls! And not when crop is in storage.
Flexibility is important in my eyes-what works one year won't work for the next. You can't store forever (I know, some try). Get a target, sell up to crop insured bushels and buy some calls for the unexpected. Sleep well | |
