Try setting the channel lock as loose as possible on the ring or make some sort of spanner. With the plastic ring on the plastic tank, the harder you squeeze for grip, the harder it is to turn. Also maybe try a dull chisel with a hammer to get it broke loose. They can be fun. Good luck.
