I agree 100% with swne's post. Weight on the row unit is a big deal! Even putting a Smartbox behind the CCS row unit can effect emergence. If you have a box planter with insecticide, think of the weight change between full and empty boxes, and what that does to soil around the seed.

We have a 1200 planter with bulk fill, and really enjoy it. I would have a hard time going back to boxes. We fill bulk hoppers with a telehandler. We bought a scale platform from Central City Scale. Set Probox on scale and seed drops through scale platform. We can put as many #'s of seed in hopper as needed. Two people can fill planter in a couple minutes. Works slick!
