That is timely as we get to ice storm season. If you want a good object lesson, make electricity with a diesel tractor for a few days. Three quarters of the power goes out the stack as heat or out as heat from radiator. The electric power industry has those losses every day. We only see them when we have a big tractor running a generator.

For the original question, put pex tubing in concrete. Then, you can use several heat sources.
