What you I state guys call a chisel is actually a ripper by standards. Deere calls your 512/2720 a disk ripper. A chisel plow is intended to run from 4-12" deep. Look at a Deere 2410, CIH 600, Summers, Wilrich, Sunflower, etc.

We pull a 32' disk chisel with a 500 quad running 5-7.5 mph, but we run 9-10" deep with 2" spikes.
