west Nebraska northeast Colorado
Bryce,
I pull a 45' with 16" sweeps (and later in the season also have a dead rod on it) with an 895 Versatile (310 engine HP, 30.5L-32 singles, water in the rear tires, no other weight-tractor is 14,080#F, 11,120#R) and it works fine. Pulled the same machine for years with a John Deere 8450, (estimate 240 engine HP) not sure how we did it but we did. I think 375HP would pull 57' with no problems. Before you guys in the corn belt start posting that this can't possible work, remember that we are using a chisel with sweeps much like you use a field cultivator with sweeps, and often our soils will be dryer so it will pull easier.
