SD | You should be able to turn them by hand. If its difficult to turn them it will cause undue strain on your whole drive system since there is a cumulative affect with each additional meter on your planter. I wouldn't worry too much about it as they usually loosen up a little bit as they are ran.
Not to get off of subject, and I may be a little biased, but I swear the finger meters singulate better than the vac meters. I know precision planting shows time and time again that the finger meters are somewhat ancient technology, but I have been getting picket fence stands with my finger meters and I'm not really wanting to change. If there is an electric drive (Graham Electric Drives???) to hook up directly to the finger meters, I think this would be the perfect setup for simplicity. | |
