We applied some compost which had a total of 50lbs N plus 80 units of N from urea preplant and had enough N in nitrate form going down 12 inch as measured by a nitrate test.
6inchs of rain later took this level down to nil .It then called for 85lbs of N all within a 3 week period the corn was about 3 feet tall.Putting on any more N then the reading called for was useless.This corn was totally out of N.Topdressed this crop with uan
