Subject: RE: Best place to farm?

Glasgow, Ky
Guess it is a matter of what your priorities are. I remember the first time I went to Illinois about 45 years ago. Being raised in North central Ky I was amazed at all the flat land. Problem was there was mile after mile of it and it got boring pretty fast. Corn and beans, corn and beans. Yield wise it beats where I farm, hands down. But I kind of like the challenge of farming the land I farm, finding new sinkholes in fields each year without running in them, remembering where the limestone rocks are,, figuring out where waterways need to be and working around them, having plenty of steep hills that give you a thrill when going around or up and down them. Most of all I like the scenery, especially in the spring and fall. I guess I am an oddball but I guess I would rather be where I am than anywhere. It's probably not the best place to farm for most folks but it might be for a few.
