Subject: Water Analysis & Spraying

NW Iowa
What is the most important factors of the water we use for spraying? Everyone adds either AMS, or a liquid form to neutralize/ soften water. What is the real goal, is it PH, hardness, or what other factors. I look at custom applicators that often times get water from different locations/ cities and for sure don't have same analysis. Is the ams or liquid additives a fix all? I have done water tests in the past and am surprised at the different levels from farm to farm. Just wondering what everyone else does, AMS, citric acid, or a liquid form of AMS and if a water sample matters? Thanks
