My experience with a tine weeder on silt loam soils is the unit worked great for soybeans but was at times too aggressive on small corn. Solution in our case was to use the rotary hoe early on corn fb tine weeder if appropriate. Our problem was burying small corn. For some reason we did not have that problem with soybeans.
