Northeast Nebraska | This is going through a pivot. How do you transfer the potash into the liquid tank? We have very heavy clay soils and a lot of our K gets tied up in the soil. We also have very light sandy soils in some areas which as previously said cannot hold enough K for the season. Also K is very dependent upon moisture levels to be crop available; with fertigating it and spoon feeding we are putting it directly into soil solution. During peak uptake corn and soybeans both take up substantial amounts of K from the soil somewhere north of 7# of K per acre per day; I just don't see a soil being able to keep up with this demand.
